WHS installation-User's guide says not to click "Next" RRS feed

  • Question

  • WHS Preinstallation user's guide says when it gets to Welcome Sceen, it says DO not click the "next" arrow.

It says click Atrl+AltZ+Del to get the task Manager and end the Task there...When I do that, I get a lot of messages that is you do that, your installation does not complete and stuff...

Should I trust the manual and really end it witj the task manager or just click welcome?

Once I did click welcome and did not see any problem....I am doing a freash install now.... So why are the saying not to click welcome???

  • Because, if you read all the documentation, this an OEM disk and so you should do as the manual says, IF the computer is then going to be supplied to a 3rd party. (you are the system builder)

If this is for your own use, you should complete all the steps required and do not end the task.

The idea is that when your client first switches on their new computer, they will get a Welcom screen and they will be able to personalise it to their own settings.
