If your System Properties window is showing that you're activated and online validation says you're not, please:
1. Phone activate and speak with a support agent when you’re given the option. You can start by typing "slui.exe 4" in the search field in the Start Menu and pressing Enter. Follow the prompts through phone activation (be ready for lots of numbers) and then reboot. The phone activation process takes about 6 minutes.
2. Once you're done, please revalidate by clicking on "Validate Windows" here: www.microsoft.com/genuine
After you've validated successfully you can log out and log back in or reboot to get rid of any non-genuine messaging you may be getting.
If you’ve tried phone activation and you're still reaching the same validation failure page (with error code 0xC004C4A6), please open a free service request by visiting: https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?c1=509&gprid=9860 and post your confirmation number here. I'll contact you directly so we can figure out the cause of your issue.
If you're not in the US, please also post the name of the support agent who contacts you by e-mail once you've made the free service request.
Thank you!

hi,
I've tried the phone activation at least twice, once with automated attendant another time with a live agent. My validation attempt still fails with the error i mentioned above. I am in US and the support ticket i opened with microsoft is 1035973996.
The support agent suggested the following:
1. Click the Start Button, type "msconfig" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search field and press the Enter key to start System Configuration Utility.
Note: System Configuration Utility requires administrative privileges, please click "Continue" when the User Account Control dialog-box appear.
2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray).
3. Click the "Startup" tab and take note of the items that are checked and the items that are unchecked, as we will want to return your computer to this configuration when we are finished. After you have noted the checked items, click "Disable all".
4. Click OK.
After that, please restart the computer and validate the system again to check if the issue still persists.
NOTE: We can check on Normal Startup in the General tab to roll back to Normal Mode after we get this issue resolved.
Please restart the computer and visit the following website to validate Windows again.
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/WhyValidate.aspx?displaylwindowsang=en
i am still getting the same error during the validation!!
