Connector software installation error RRS feed

  • Question

  • After downloading the software from the WHS server an error message appears: “An error occurred starting Windows Home Server Connector setup. Please run Windows Home Server Setup manually from shared folder on your server”

In my homenetwork there are 3 PC connected to the server. Two other PC do have above problem.

Investigation with connector troubleshooter  toolkit 1.1 displays the following problems
    4.12 Check Enroll 56000 – id xml.
The connection is closed. Cannot make a trusted connection with the secure SSL/TLS channel
    4.13 Check EnrollID 56000 – id xml
The connection is closed. Cannot make a trusted connection with the secure SSL/TLS channel

    http://server:55000/enrollid/id.xml resulted in <ID>1</ID>       OK
https://server:56000/enroll/id.xml resulted in certificare-error. After accepting with ignore <ID>2</ID>     OK

    I am not an expert

    Please advice?

  • The problem was solved after reinstalling (Server recovery disk) the WHS software.

Searching for a solution took days, reinstalling the software a few hours ;)

All data was stil available on the server.

  • Double and triple check system clocks.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
