  • Hey Adil , hope you recognize me :)

You dont have to create two custom fields for this purpose. You can create a one enterprise workflow controlled field and set it as requried and read only for the next stages all from the Server Settings -> Workflow Stages.

Create/Edit stage and configure as per your requirement, i hope it helps.

Let me know if you need any more the details.

  • Are you talking of Enterprise Custom Field or Local Custom Field , In case enterprise then Project Level Or Task Level ?

Though you can reference a formula custom field in another formula custom field but not all type can be referenced together,  for non appearance of fields in pick list and which fields to reference would reccomend go through this technet article for more info

  • Hi Adil,

generally yes, what exactly do you try to achieve? There are some estrictions in regards to referencing to other custom fields, for example project custom fields or task custom fields interact with a resource custom field. that is generally a difficult thing to achieve with simply formulas.
    Hope this helps

  • Hi Marc,

Thanks for reply. I just wanted to make a custom field required so at the proposal submission page of the workflow it forces user to enter its value and then at all other stages of the workflow it just shows the value as readonly on a PDP. To achieve this i need to define 2 fields, first required and other workflow controlled and the workflow controlled will show the value of required field.
