Vista Home Premium to XP Professional

    Question

  • Hello

I have XP as an OEM on an old not-in-use PC and I have purchased an XP Professional Upgrade.

I now have Vista Home Premium but would like to install XP Professional on my Vista PC.

Can I use my OEM XP without that product key but the Professional key to install it? If so, how?

No – Upgrades can only be used to upgrade an OS from an earlier version – not to downgrade from a later version.
OEM licenses are ONLY valid on the machine on which they are originally installed.
