"Window Vista(TM) Build 6001 This Copy of Windows is Not Genuine"

Question

A "Window Vista(TM) Build 6001 This Copy of Windows is Not Genuine" label was started to appear 2 days ago. I tried to use cmd.exe to remove it, but it returns after 1 day. Is it a bug or something? Is there a permant solution?Wednesday, June 11, 2008 2:48 PM

Hi SpaceMan++,
Your Vista appears Genuine and I don't see any other error codes.
Sometimes if there is a momentarty error that puts Vista in a Non-Genuine state and then returns it to Genuine (even if it happened within a split-second) it can sometimes take up to 2 reboots, for all of Vista's systems to resync.
Would you reboot 2x and see if the message goes away. Hopefully it was a random error and this will not re-occure. If it does continue to come up, please create a (no cost) WGA support request at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52029 for additional support.
Thank you,

In order to recieve the best support, we request all users initially download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue" click the Windows tab, click the "Copy" button, then paste the report into a response message in this thread.
If you do not have access to the Start Button:1) Login to Vista and Click the option that brings up Internet Explorer.
2) Type: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 into the browser address bar.
3) A window will come up asking if you want to Run or Save, Select Run
4) When the program runs, Click the Continue button, then click the Copy button.
5) Return to this thread by Typing: http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3472797&SiteID=25 into the browser address bar.
6) In a reply post, Paste the Diagnostic Report.

How dare you ignore me and delete my request for help! I posted right after Darin Smith and now my request for help has dissapeared!! Who the hell are you to think you can ignore your customers need for assistance? I have a genuine problem with my GENUINE copy of windows and I HAVE asked for help and expect to get it.
If you fail to respond at all or in an appropriate manner this time I will contact your management and demand you take a closer look at my case without the blunt disregard I seem to have been given. If you still choose to ignore my issue, I will call the authorities and have you investigated.
This IS a problem with windows and NOT a problem with my wallet. I suggest you contact me personally through a private message if you wish not to discuss this issue in the open public.
Thankyou,
Ms Dunya Lakmas.

Posting your issue in someone elses "Help Request" thread can (and does) cause confusion for all involved, as well as longer Time till Resolution for your (and the Original poster's) issues.
Please read the "Please Read before Posting" announcment on the main page of this forum (http://forums.community.microsoft.com/en-US/genuinevista/threads/) for instructions for properly posting your support request.
Once you have created your own thread, I will be more then happy to assist you with your Vista Activation or Validation related issue.
Thank you,
Darin Smith
