  • You definitely can add space flight trajectories using WorldWide Telescope!

Some steps to get your started down this path:

    • Choose a trajectory file you want to use (these are in the form of xyz files) which is made of four columns of data, the first column of which is the Julian date... if an xyz file you have has Gregorian dates, there are many online converters available.)
    • There are many trajectory files available on Celestia Motherlode http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/catalog/spacecraft.php
    • Then open WWT and make sure Look At is set to Solar System (assuming any space craft you'd be dealing with would be in our Solar System)
    • Open the Layer Manager (under View - Show Layer Manager)
    • Open Earth and right click on Earth, New Reference Frame
    • Type in a name and select Trajectory under Offset Type , click Next
    • Ensure Show as Point at Distance and Show Orbit Path are checked
    • I recommend changing the color to make it easier to find the trajectory
    • Click next and click Import Path and select your xyz trajectory file
    • Click Finish and see your trajectory
