  • Question

  • I'm dying why is onecare going away. After having Norton and Mcafee, I was so happy that I found onecare. I was in control of my computer not Norton or mcafee. Any ideas which other program will work as well as onecare????????????Thanks for answering

  • Take a look at the following for general OneCare End of Life Guidance.

At the end of that are links to Microsoft Security Essentials, which is replacing OneCre as anti-malware only.  It doesn't include backup, firewall or the Hub/Circle features, but it is complete protection form malware, just like OneCare was.

I have moved your post to the General Forum since it isn't specifically about an antivirus issue.

If you have been happy with OneCare, when the subscription expires, try Microsoft Security Essentials - based on the same core as Wndows Live OneCare. It is free and has been quite well received since its release.
