Publish ClickOnce or only exe-file RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I am new using Visual Studio and I have now created a Windows Form Application.
First I only copy the exe-file to the network so that the user can run the application.
The application does what it supposed to do but if I need to update no one can run the application. Otherwise it's not possible to update the exe-file.
    Question 1
Is there a way to update an exe-file even if it is in use?
    Question 2
If I Publish how do I do that in the best way so that users get the updated version as soon as possible.
Can I publish to a folder on our network?
What permission must users have on that folder?
Is it possible that users can get update even if they have the application running around the clock?
    Thanks in advance

  • Hi Falken100,

Thank you for posting in the MSDN forum.

Actually this fourm is to discuss the VS IDE, if this issue is related to the ClickOnce and Setup & Deployment Projects, this forum would be better:
