Assuming (because you are posting in a Genuine Vista forum) Vista Operating System, how did you obtain your product that you want the code found?
If purchased with a disk then it is on the back of the flip out tray that holds the Vista disks.
If already installed on a computer then look on the case or in the battery compartment for the COA sticker that has the COA license key.  The key returned by the various key finder programs would normally be the SLIC key on a computer from a major manufacturer and would be worthless to you.  A COA key is what is needed in most circumstances to install the OS without the manufacturer's supplied factory restore media from a generic OEM disk.

  • Are you attempting to Activate your Office installation?

If so, then you have to BUY a key for it.
