How to throttle Live Mesh? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using Live Mesh at work and I notice whenever synchronizing my folders, like uploading content from my folders to mesh that it sucks up all my upload bandwidth and the internet just comes to a stop. (this isn't good at work!!) Is there a way to throttle the maximum upload bandwidth for Mesh? Or any other work around that will fix this???

  • Hi Tynen,

The ability to manually throttle the bandwidth that Live Mesh uses is not currently available in the product, but we've seen a number of customer requests for this (e.g., in our Wish List).  I've added your vote for this feature to our internal list of suggestions.  Generally, Live Mesh tries to be intelligent about the bandwidth that it uses, but it sounds like this isn't working well in your case.  Please feel free to submit a bug with your Live Mesh logs so that the team can investigate.  Instructions for collecting logs and submitting a bug are in an Announcement at the top of the forums.

    Thanks,

    Ben.
