Remove From My Forums

Error keeps saying back-up already configured.

Our newer laptop (I don't think) has ever been backed-up due to having the same name pc as the other two we sold. I have tried to reset it. Even with changing the computer name. Now, what?

Uninstall One Care, run the install cleanup tool - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/399071e2-49dc-4767-932d-d261e3965943 then reinstall One Care. You should now be able to configure backup.

Before going the reinstall route, try resetting your backup plan:

If your older computer was a Hub in a OneCare Circle and you configured Centralized Backup, you may need to make this one a Hub, too, in order to configure backup or to reset the backup plan.
