Deactivating OC 2007 RTM RRS feed

  • Question

  • We just migrated all of our users to OC 2007 R2 and want to remove the RTM server. I have run all deactivation tasks but when I went to deactivate the web front end it says it is going to remove the service accounts. I used the same service accounts for the R2 server so am not sure what is going to happen.

Will it really delete the AD accounts?

If so, what all service accounts will I need to recreate? Just the ones that the services run under as found in Services?

  • You do not want to delete and recreate those accounts as that will cripple your R2 deployment.  Take a look at this article for details on uninstalling OCS; only perform the deactivation steps as you clearly dont' want to remove domain or forest-wide components that are shared between the RTM and R2 deployments.

  • I do not see the link to the article. Everything I have read says to deactivate everything in RTM then uninstall through add/remove programs. Can you post the link?
