Won't accept my genuine Office Professional 2007 product key.

Question
-
Hello All
Some time ago I bought Office Professional 2007 on discs and installed it on my laptop. The product key was accepted but there was a persistant 'This is not genuine' message appearing. That said, the software still worked so I continued to use it. I had paid for it after all and it is completely genuine (I have visited the part of the website that explains how to be certain you have a genuine version and I am completely satisfied that it is).
I have had to perform a complete system recovery of my laptop and have tried to re-install my Office Professional 2007 from the discs. The validation process is not accepting my product key and is saying that I have only a few more uses of the software left before I will need to enter a genuine product key.
As you'd expect, this is annoying as I know my software is genuine and properly paid for. Can anyone help please?
Many thanks
thechap

Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - 100 Genuine
You don't have Professional, but Professional Plus. That is a widely pirated version of Office 2007 and is never legally sold to a private individual but only to businesses, educational or governmental entities. The Invalid Product Key indicates that the key was created by using an illegal Key Generator program and was never issued by Microsoft.Your only recourse is to contact the original seller and demand a full refund of all costs or pursuing legal action against the company that sold the product.
You may also want to look at the Microsoft Genuine site for further possible assistance in gettin legal: http://www.microsoft.com/howtotell/default.aspx?displaylang=en

Hello thechap,
Your time zone says that you are in the UK, so the info contained in this Windows 7 GA forum sticky post applies to your situation as well: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/4b6f01a4-4475-4e3b-a4e4-6ec921b785b8
If your materials are "good" enough counterfeits to closely resemble Genuine materials then it is likely that Microsoft will replace them for free under the program described in the link above.
You can also go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on the Validate Office button. When Office Professional 2007 fails validation, look for the links to the Complimentary replacement program that will be on the right hand side of the subsequent web pages as you're informed that Office fails Validation.

Hi Both
Thank you for your very useful replies. I am somewhat cheesed off that I've been 'had', so to speak. That said, the software, the discs and the box all seem completely genuine to a novice, ie. me. I have read further on the matter during the day and there are a couple of clues on the box that mean it isn't genuine that I just wouldn't have known about otherwise. As counterfeits go, it's a very good one.
I have generated a 'Counterfeit Report' and will send my package to MS in the hope that they take pity on me and my £90 loss.
I am grateful for your advice and assistance.
