Certfications in SQL Server 2016

Question
-
Hi,
I have certifications in legacy SQL Servers (MCDBA, SQL Server 2000 and MCITP, SQL Server 2005). Also, from active certifications, I had taken one exam of SQL Server 2008, making me Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist.
Now, I want to do the certifications in SQL Server 2016. What would be my upgrade paths? What exams I have to clear?

If I'm interpreting it correctly, you need to take the exams again after that length of time between certifications.
Here is the documentation which mentions that you can upgrade your 2012/2014 certification to 2016, but no reference to versions lower than SQL Server 2012:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/mcsa-sql-2016-certification.aspx- How to upgrade to the MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Development certification
You can upgrade the MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014 certification to the MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Development certification through a single exam.
