How to import data with related entity data into CRM 2013 easilly? RRS feed

  • I want to import entity data with related entity data into CRM 2013, any suggestion?

  • To import data with related entities: Create your entities with a relationship between the two entities (1:N)

    I'll try to explain with an example: Group (fields:name) - (1:N group_student) - Student (fields:name, group)
    Import your groups first (csv with one column name)
    Import your students after (csv with two columns: name and group_name)
    In the 'Map Fields' form in the import wizard, map the group to the group_name column and select the name field in the popup.

    This works for CRM 2011, think it'll be the same in 2013

    You can try Kingsway soft + SSIS for CRM 2011. In SSIS you can write .NET code. Below are the urls.

  • Hi,

    You can write programs to handle imports. There's a web service interface that you use for this sort of thing. If you have a look at the SDK there are a couple of examples there.
