Change IP addresses on IIS server and change IIS site binding for each site listed. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been tasked to automate the migration of one of our web servers from building to building. Doing this will require the server to change the 5 IP bound to it hosting different websites. each site is also bound in IIS to the specific IP. How can I do this using PowerShell so it is more automated and consistent? I found information where you list the Get-WmiObject win32_networkadapterconfiguration -Filter "ipenabled ='true'" and a change for a single IP with subnet and gateway. How do I expand this to multiple ip's?

  • You can just add multiple IPs in an array.

IIS and Windows don't take well to multiple IPs.  YOu should just use header redirects and use firewall or NAT to send multiple IPs to a server.

For IIS issue post here: http://forums.iis.net It is a Microsoft site specific to IIS issues and scripting.
