Resolution limitation in Hdmake? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just tested hdmake on a 95 Gigapixel image (made of 247 images 19x13 for a resolution of 371678 x 255606), and it seems there is a resolution limitation.

After starting to process I got the error Hdmake error-hr = 800700e

I tried one line of 19 images same error, I had to go down to 15 images wide (293430 pix) to have it work.

Question, what is the maximum horizontal and vertical resolution HdMake can process?

    Thanks

  • hr = 800700e is E_OUTOFMEMORY.  Not too surprising I guess :-)

There's no fixed limitation on the maximum horizontal or vertical resolution Hdmake can process, but there is a practical memory limitation.  We'll try to ease that in the next release.

  • Thanks, although I have 3.3Gb of memory on the system and I dont recall it reaching the upper limit. May be it got to 2Gb application limit and I did not notice.

  • hi! I've tested its limit, pushed actually, my friend bought a new quadro fx laptop with i7X in it, has 12gb of ram, I've pushed its limit using 580photos and final result was amazingly 150GP (configuration, as I said, i7 extreme, 12gigs of ddr3 ram, and 128gb ssd as main drive and 2*500gb seagate 7200rpm for files and other stuff, we've used them @ raid 1 for stracth disks) . but having some trouble with tiff compression, when I was using autopano pro it had some setting about tiff compression, ICE, no. My laptop is Core2Duo T6400, 4gb ram, 1st hdd 320gb 7200rpm, 2nd hdd 500gb 7200rpm seagate, win xp 64bit, no problems so far with render limit..

    WERAQS, google it!
