I am moving sites to Azure and no longer have the benefit of using Index Server. As such, I would like to be able to use Live Search SDK on my Azure sites. I have read the SDK and I was really disapointed to see that the ability to have a custom site catalog was not included in the SDK. This is a standard feature that is offered by Google (custom search) that I cannot stress enough that needs to be included in the Microsoft Live Search SDK.
I cannot rely on adding site: to the search queries because I do not have enough control over what gets included in the public catalog, and more specifically the timing of when pages are included in the index. I have seen it take weeks to pick up new pages. Adding a custom catalog concept to the search SDK would allow us to query against the custom catalog which could have fresher content than would otherwise be available in the public catalog.
Is there someone in Microsoft that I could talk to regarding this requirement?
