How can i use Salesforce pricebook data into crm2011? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am working on data migration from salesforce to CRM. I'm struck up with the mapping of price book entry(salesforce) with MS Dynamics CRM2011.

In the salesforce pricebook there is a list of data on products and implementation fees.  I want to use those data in crm.

If you let me know how to map it or use it in other way please let me know.

    Thanks in advance

    Regards,

  • Price Book entry would map to Price List Item in CRM. Price List Item is a combination of Price List, Product and Currency. You will need to import Products into the system before you try to import the Price List Item. Next create a Price List in CRM. You can then create Price List Items for that Price List.

You can import it using the Data Import Wizard of Dynamics CRM or opt for any commercial solution for this.

  • Hi Sam,

Thanks for your reply. The problem that I face is as I work on my company crm I cannot make changes to the existing customised settings on Crm. I could find some fields in crm relevant to price list Item(combination of pricelist, product and currency). But the data that I wanted it to load is not the exact imported one. I have an idea to fix the issue. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Step1: Export the data of the CRM entities and open it in excel sheet. (For ex, say Accounts details with their field names should be shown in the excel sheet)

Step2: Open the salesforce data sheet using excel:(Ex: Accounts sheet)

Step3: Copy and Paste the data from salesforce accounts sheet which are relevant(or which needed for the office CRM) to the CRM accounts sheet and Save. I will change '0' and '1' in salesforce staus messages to 'Closed' and 'open' in CRM status. Likewise, if there are any other fields related to the MS crm fields with different values I rename them and put them into the MS crm excel sheet.

Step4: Similar to the step3 repeat the process for other entities. (I am not sure whether the documents and history will be linked to their respective account).

Step5: Import the Saved CRM data files into the CRM.

The datas should now be in my office CRM.

Please correct me if said anything incorrect. I think the above method should work atleast for some extent.

    Thanks,

    Venkat

  • If you use the Import Data Wizard of CRM, it allows you to setup a Data Map. Within the datamap you can set the mapping for picklist fields. I do not think there is a need to manually format the sheet for Dynamics CRM consumption.

    Check the Import data wizard...
