Create/Delete/Edit Files and folders doesnt show in windows 7

  For some reason when i create/delete/copy/move/rename files and folders in windows 7 the changes will not show untill i manually refresh the explorer.
  
  To add to this at the same time media player doesnt open for close to ten minutes and the computer wont log off or shut down for close to 20 minutes even though i have a quad core cpu and 6
  Gb ram (basicaly i have a new and relativley good computer to the point where there is no way this should be happening)
  
  I have seen mentions of these problems on other forums but no mention from microsoft, is there an answer to this problem becuase it is extremly annoying?
