OneCare not starting RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed OneCare beta 2.0 and did not have any problems until I started turning off services in msconfig to help in solving another problem.  I have since turned all services and startup programs on and OneCare will not start.  I get a dialog box that says it is not working or has been stopped.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the application and I still get the same result.  How do I get it going again?

  • You could contact support -

But, I think I would start with doing a System Restore to before you turned off services. That may cause OneCare to start up in Red status, depending on how long ago the problem began, but once the database catches up with the actual date, it will go back to green.

What other problem were you trying to resolve that caused you to manipulate the startups and services? I suspect that you have one or more dependent services not started correctly or one of the supporting components or subsystems is now corrupt - MSXML 4 or .Net Framework 2.0
