Validation Problems- software counterfeiting??? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I received message "you may be a victim of software counterfeiting".  I have completed the diagnostic report (see below).  I don't recall reinstalling XP home on this machine.  This software has been on my machine for awhile and I have previously received a "geniune validation" message and had been receiving updates on this machine.   I have the reinstallation CD from DELL and began a re-install of XP Home but received a message that the version of XP Home is a newer version than the CD.    What should I do next?
