    This version of the Windows Genuine Advantage validation tool is no longer supported.  Please download the newest version and ensure that your system clock is accurate.

    I have tried to use IE9 32 bit and set it as default.  Still gave me this.  When I run the validation program it says Mozilla is the default browser and the data is coming from google chrome.  I would like to put a word out there to Microsoft to stop fucking around with this genuine tool and leave it as is.

    EDIT:

    I GOT IT.  You have to copy and paste that whole thing and put it into internet explorer.  YOU CANNOT JUST CLICK ON THE LINK.  Also I had google chrome set as my default browser and this worked so obviously that is not the problem.  They just have the links wrong.  SO I'M GONNA SAY IT AGAIN.  COPY THAT LINK.  GO UP TO THE ADDRESS BAR AND CLICK PASTE.  It should go to a different site that wants you to ALLOW and not RUN the program.  You have to redo every link like this according to Noel D Paton.

    I agree this is BULL*#% and i think enough already I to have been messing with this for a hour now and there is nothing  I can do. I mean the software that I was orignaly downloading requries me to validate software so I do and then gives me an Error and will not let me go any futher until I figure out how to get a code wht a crock

    The version of the Windows Genuine Advantage validation tool is "no longer supported. Please download the newest version and ensure that your system clock is accurate.

    After downloading it from Microsoft for this update http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35388

    Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems KB2574819

    Then press continue and it takes me to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/exe-validation.aspx?id=35388

    I have the clock correct too.

    I recently had this problem when I updated my Firefox; even thou I knew my default browser was IE; the new version of Firefox set my UserAgent as Firefox; so when I’m using IE and I visit an MS site for instance it thinks I’m using Firefox since it see that as my UserAgent.

    User Agent and Default Browser have to be the same under the Browser Data section after you run the MSDiag.exe (Search - I'm a new user and unable to post links)

    How to Change bowser UserAgent (Search - I'm a new user and unable to post links )

    List of Bowser UserAgent String (make sure you select the right one for OS and IE version) (Search - I'm a new user and unable to post links )

    If the UserAgent is listed as Firefox you must go into Firefox and change it to IE

    That's not the problem at all, currently - it's simply that the Download Center servers are serving the wrong links.

    I am attempting to get some action from MS on this. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

    None of these links are taking me to a fix.  I'm running Windows XP Media on a Dell laptop.  The MS site is not downloading the right program.  I found one that downloaded and said ALL IS WELL but when I try to download the new Media Player it crashes with the same error message.

    How are you getting there?

    First of all I posted what worked for me.  It it was an issue of being sent to the wrong URL; every machine would have this problem and that NOT the case.  I have tested this on two different PCs; one it work the the other it did not; only difference was the UserAgent; I change the UserAgent and it works fine.

    You have only provided an band-aid or workaround; cause once the user gets the WGA pop-up again the issue will resurface.

    The problem here is that that you are not seeing the same issue as the other posters.

    I had the same problem for over a month - whereby I could access the proper links using IE9 in Win7 or IE8 in XP.

    The links are no lenger working without manual adjustment - with no changes to my system that I'm aware of, and with the proper User Agent String.

    The problem lies with the server at MS - I am attampting to get some action within MS on this matter, but they claim not to be able to repro it currently.
