sign in takes several tries RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is anyone having issues signing in to the forums.
I am using IE7 with XP.

Sometimes I am signed in to my live account already.  So I go to MSDN forums and click on the 'sign in to forums' link.  the screen clears for about 20 seconds.  when the screen refreshes it is still displaying the 'sign in to forums' link.  So I click the link again and it may to do the same thing or it may come back with 'My forum Links'.
    Sometimes it takes several tries.
It is always slow with refreshing.
Is something going on at the site or could this be my PC?

  • Not at the moment. This issue could either be:

    1) Passport (but we've confirmed you're getting this frequently)

    2) Cookies. Can you delete all of your microsoft or ms cookies in IE 7?

    Thanks.

  • It's not your PC. I've seen this issue happening to me from time to time (Not to often though). This issue is related to passport or live. Are you getting this frequently?

  • Yes.
I don't stay signed in throughout the day for various reasons.
so i have the need to sign in many times each day to check forums answers and research.
it is very annoying to wait ... and click the sign in link....and wait some more.
are the forums just extremely busy???
    are they updating something???

Signing in has never not been a problem.  Whatever the various reasons are, I'd have to recommend you don't log out so often. There's little point, nobody that has access to your machine ought to be particularly interested in posting as though the post came from you.  Use Windows+L if you worry about this.  And everything you do at these forums is available in detail with time stamps and traceable actions to anybody anyway.

  • I think we experience the same thing, and I already made a post about it. Weird account issue (continue...)

I'm not sure why it happens, but it's really annoying. :)
