ADFS/IFD Logon giving 404 error

Question
-
We have a multi-tenancy deployment using ADFS and IFD. Suddenly, when trying to reach 2 of the organizations using IE we get the 404 error- File or Directory not found. The Outlook Client works fine. The other organizations open without error. Any suggestions welcome. Discovered that I can logon when on the server itself. Event log indicates authorization failed.

Hi Ken,
Have you tried to access the websites by IP? Your DNS might be having issues resolving the name. Just something to try.

You should make sure that all of the DNS entries are accessible (e.g. auth.company.com, adfs.company.com, and org.company.com) replacing those with your actual DNS entries. If you have a proxy/gateway make sure you still have rules to forward to adfs, auth, and org. I would start by running Fiddler on the client and see what requests are making it through and which ones are not. If you determine which web server is not responding (CRM or ADFS) you may get a better error code in the event logs of the web server.Monday, September 26, 2011 12:59 PM

It seems to be a local machine issue. Other users access without a problem, and I can access via the Outlook Client - just not with IE. Hangs at auth.company.com suggesting it is some kind of authorization issue?

Open the ADFS management tool, on the relying party trust hit "UPDATE" on the left side window to make sure the others are correct.
