Is it possible to map the exchange rate field? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have a new entity that is used to store which sales person has taken revenue from a specific opportunity. There is a relationship between the new entity and an Opportunity. However, we need to the new entity to use the same exchange rate as the Opportunity did. We dont want it to use different exchange rates between when the opportunity was closed, and a new 'order intake' record is created. I have tried to map the two attributes but cant as 'exchangerate' is unavailable on the new target entity. I think you are unable to modify/change the exchange rate using the SDK too.

Has anyone tried/got any ideas on how we can achieve this?

    thanks in advance :-)

  • I would have thought if you mapped the transactioncurrencyid field that it would do the exchange rate automatically. Otherwise you may need to create a pre stage plugin on create for the new entity that gets the exchnage rate from the Opportunity and then set the InputParameter's exchange rate field.

  • yep - there is a money field and exchange rate field on the new entity. However, even whn i used the 'generate mapping' functionality it didn't map the exchange rate fields :-(

i'm not sure if the exchange rate field is 'mappable' or if i'm doing/done something wrong...
