    I have a PM using MS Project 2007.  He created a project and set valid dates and assigned durations and resources.  When he calculates the schedule all start dates change to the Project Start date.  His task type is fixed units but we changed it to fixed duration and it does the same thing.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Sounds like he hasn't set predecessor and successor relationships.  Dates should only be set sparingly as that interferes with the program's ability to model the schedule.  Ideally, only the start date should be defined, and all other tasks calculated using dependencies.
