Are Exams 70-646 and 70-647 going to be updated to reflect Server 2008 R2? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've noticed that the MCTS exams in the MCITP:SA/EA track have been updated to Server 2008 R2. Are exams 70-646 and 70-647 going to include material specific to Server 2008 R2?

I've checked the skills measured (objectives) for these exams and they have not changed yet. Should I be studying material centric to Server 2008 R2 before taking the 70-647 next month?

  • Hi,

Yes If you have MCSE or MCSA certification than you can upgrade them by giving these papers and these papers have included all the materials related to Windows 2008.

  • I recommend that you study the material for R2 if you want to be completely prepared. In the past, other exams have started including questions for "R2" versions without any warning being given in the "skills tested" page. If this has happened before with other exams, there is no guarantee that it won't happen to 70-647.
