My system has decided suddenly that it isn't genuine, even though it is. (and yes im sure) RRS feed

  • I have changed a lot of components recently,
    Motherboard (and bios) , 2 extra HDDs and new GFX. 

    This seemed to happen when i was installing ubuntu on a dual boot basis.

  • Changing the motherboard is defined as creating a new computer - it's in the lap of the gods (and the MS Actication operators) as to whether MS will allow the change.

    You need to use Telephone activation.

    telephone activation (operator calls)

    Click on the Start button

    in the Search box, type

    SLUI   4

    and hit the Enter key

    follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you

  • ...having said that, you do have some filesystem problems - possibly caused by the GRUB installer you possibly used.
