formContext.ui.tabs.get("tab_1").getDisplayState() working randomly in Unified Interface

  I was trying to use formContext.ui.tabs.get("tab_1").getDisplayState(); to identify if the tab was clicked or not in Unified interface by user assuming that it will be Expanded when the user clicks the specific tab in the form but found it is randomly setting the value to Expanded or Collapsed.

  Please let me know if there is any alternative or its a bug on Unified interface?
