Chkdsk freezes at Stage 5 when "Verifying Free Space" RRS feed

    today I attempted to do a Chkdsk but when it got to Stage 5 it froze. I wait 1 hour but it stay at Stage 5, 40%. I can boot into Vista perfectly and I have kept the hard drive clean of Malware with no major infections to report. I have a 250 GB HDD. i should add my laptop has windows vista home premium service pack 2. last night also i do Chkdsk and exactly it froze at stage 5, 40%.

    what is the problem? and how solve it?

            I'm very sorry you have a wrong place posted. Your issue was not appears to be a relate "Fix it Center(Mr.Fix it)".
