IFilter not working?

Question
-
On Vista x64, Indexing Options for the wpost file type has Index Propertiesand File Contents selected. However, the Filter Description column says "Registered IFilter is not found."
On a separate machine running the current release of WLW, configuration is set to Index Properties Only, and if I choose Content and Properties it says it's using the Plain Text Filter.
Are there known issues around indexing?Tuesday, June 17, 2008 7:44 PM

Sorry, I investigated but forgot to reply. Looks like we have to write a separate x64 version of the IFilter, I didn't realize that was the case. I'll file a bug.

There are known issues in our RTM release--basically we did not register the IFilter correctly for Vista. The latest Tech Preview should take care of all of these issues on x86. I'm not sure about x64 though--can you let us know if you're running the Tech Preview (14.0.3913.522)? Thanks.Wednesday, June 18, 2008 5:08 AMModerator

Just back from vacation, so excuse the delay in responding. Yes, this is Technical Preview build 14.0.3913.522 on Vista x64 Ultimate. The behavior is consistent (ie, broken) on two separate x64 machines.Wednesday, June 25, 2008 5:15 PM

Joe, any update on this? It's incredibly frustrating to not be able to search blog post drafts the way I can search other document types.Wednesday, September 17, 2008 1:13 PM
