  • Nikkk,

I was not aware that XP Media Center Edition was ever part of the contents of an Action Pack subscription.

For your current situation, just enter the Product Key of your installation (9MT6X-PGKC8-J4JTM) into search for this forum and see the results.  They apply to you, too.

  • Mr.RichardCook,

Please follow these steps for assistance:

Step 1 is to run the utility at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012, then click the Windows tab, click the "Copy" button, then paste the report into a response in this thread.

Step 2 is to look on the computer or with the materials you received with the computer or with your retail purchase of  Windows to see if you have a Certificate of Authenticity (COA).  If you have one, tell us about the COA.  Tell us:

    1.  What edition of Windows XP is it for, Home, Pro, or Media Center, or another version of Windows?

    2.  Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering?

    3.  Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering?

    4.  DO NOT post the Product Key.

Not sure what to look for?  See this page for reference:  http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/en/coa.mspx

  • Hi Dan,

Thanks for reply. I already identified the problem, but found another one Smile

One on our junior employees lost first cd, so instead he installed me version he found on the net hoping it to be identical. No wonder it was not OEM, but Retail, so my Product Key did not work.

Right now I'm trying to find a way to get another copy of CD 1...

    Any sugestions?

    Thanks in advance!

    Nik

  • Nikkk,

I would expect that if you get the Action Pack you are at least a registered partner.

Register on the systembuilder website http://oem.microsoft.com and then on that site navigate to the Online Media Replacement page.  You'll be able to order replacement media.
