Windows Firewall shutting off automatically RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had this problem before, earlier, but doing maintenance on the computer and using One Care had solved the problem but it keeps on comming back.  Today right after I started my computer when One Care started up the One Care page indicated that Windows One Care Firewall and Anti-Virus had been shut off.  When I tried to turn on Firewall and Anti-Virus the check box areas are "grayed out."  The message stated that my administrator shut down these programs according to the Group Policies the Administrator set.  Well I am the Administrator and I do not know what Group Policies are but I did not shut down these programs.  Eventually by fiddling around, somehow the Firewall and Anti-Virus turned on but this problem keeps occurring and I am concerned about it.  How can I set these "Group Policies" so that Firewall and Anti-Virus do not automatically shut off when I do not want them to shut off?   Frank C.
