can not restore file to Money Plus mostly due to the passwords not working RRS feed

  • I used Microsoft Money for many years and recently downloaded Money Plus.  Had a tech group take the information from Money and install on Plus.  That worked fine.  When I went to login today the passwords was empty and I tried several and finally changed the password but still could not restore.  One time I opened Plus from when I first started today and it opened to a new file with no information.

    There are two kinds of passwords.  There is Microsoft ID/ LiveID/Passport), which has both an email address and a password as part of the credentials and which I presume you are talking about, and
    there is a conventional password.

    You must use the credentials that were in effect when you last got into your file, even if the email address no longer exists. Your attempt to change the Microsoft Id for the file, presuming that is what you did, had no effect.

    Do think you remember your credentials? If so, disconnect from the internet and try login in offline. If you get in, change to a "Money Password" or no password.
