    Hi,

I have Windows XP & Office 2002.  I Purchased the software at the time of my PC purchase.  I have had, and have been using the same software package for at least the past 3 years.  I have also been downloading all the Windows and Microsoft updates on a weekly basis with absolutely not problems at all.  I purchased the software at the time of PC purchase.  I did not have any problems until Microsoft pushed out the Office SP3 Updates.  Every since then I have not been able to download any of the Office Updates due to the Validation errors.  I am concerned that my PC security is being breached and need to download all the updates but I can't get any further than the validation failure. Please HELP???  I use my PC for work..and I'm concerned.

  • Hello Vanessa,

I can see why you are not passing validation, it appears you may have a trial version of Office 2003 installed on this machine, since this is a trial it will not pass validation and cause your Office system to show as not genuine.  Please Uninstall Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003 from Add/Remove Programs and this should resolve the issue.  If you are unable to uninstall the 2003 Office Suite this way please try the Windows installer cleanup utility that should be able to completely remove it from your system: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301.  After this has been completed, attempt to revalidate your copy of Office, if it is still failing validation please rerun the MGA diagnostic tool and repost the results so we may further analyze the situation.  Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

  • It appears that this was installed on 6/26/06.  Will my 2002 version of windows still be on my pc?

  • Hello Vanessa,

As long as you only select the 2003 Office suite to be uninstalled you will still have your 2002 copy of Office on this machine.

  • I'm showing that the last update was in 2006?  Is that correct?  If not, what is the update numbers & dates.  Otherwise this works.  Thank you!
