Acer EasyStore H340 Blinking Blue "i" Light and No HDD Lights RRS feed

  • Question

  • All of a sudden, access to my Acer EasyStore H340 began to become sluggish through the console. Then, it was hit or miss whether I could access the console or remote into it. At this point I took a look at te box and the OS HD light was blinking between Blue, Purple, and Red. I left it alone for a day to see if it was working through an issue, but the same thing continued to happen. I then rebooted the machine using the power button. Now, the HDD activity light is on, the "i" light is blinking blue, but none of the Hard Drive lights are even on and I can not access the server at all through the console or remoteing in.

Any ideas on what I should do next to ensure that I don't lose any of my data?

  • There's a post in the FAQ section (near/at the top) that details how to access your data if your server isn't functioning. That will be your best, most reliable route to getting at your data right away.

As for the blinking light, it should be documented in your manual, but I suspect it means you have a serious problem with your server. Have you contacted Acer (I do understand they don't have the best customer service, but it's a service you paid for, so I would recommend you take advantage of it)?

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

Here are the links to the service manual and users manual for your
server.  In the first link, they talk about the lights and their
significance, and I believe they do in the second link as well.

    (User Manual)

The service manual gives you some steps for diagnosing the problem in
    the troubleshooting section.

Hope this helps you, and have a great day:)

  • Hi Matt!

Did you figure out an answer to your problem?

It's feels like the spitting image of what happend to me, but I still don't have an answer too it.Would be great if you could post an update or a solution/non-solution here.
I've scoured the web for a solution, still waiting to find one, and called Acer, but they don't know their product.

I've found one guy that had a similar problem here:

But I'm hoping for an easier solution. Looking forward for an update.

    Thanks!
