Normalize 3 digit extension & SIP URI Help Needed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can anyone help me please with normalization rule for 3 digit extensions (phone & translation)?

Also I need help with valid server URI in OCS user options.  What's in Exchange UM is: 118;phone-context=OCS 2007.gaston

Is it absolutely necessary to run exchucutil.ps1 script or can equivalent be done through Exchange Management?  And if so must I download the huge SP1 beta just to get this file?

    Thanks in advance, Fred

  • Hi Fred,

You can normalize a 3 digit extension like this:

    pattern: ^(\d{3})$

    translation: +15555555$1

That will normalize a 3 digit extension like this:

    123 becomes +1 (555) 555-5123

You'd obviously have to plug in your correct area code & exchange instead of 555.

As for the URI in the OCS user config page, you don't want to specify a server uri. You want to specify a line URI.

Under line uri, you would want to enter something like:

    tel: +15555555123

or whatever your full phone number is. You have to put the tel: in there as well as the +.

And as for exchucutil.ps1 - you need SP1 beta for it. I've tried running the script without the full service pack and it didn't work for me.
