Site Verification Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having an issue with the webmaster tool verifying my site. I am trying to use the HTML Meta tag and have that option marked in my tools. I am getting the error:

We were not able to verify your site. Make sure you've uploaded the LiveSearchSiteAuth.xml file or inserted the verification meta tag.

    Web address: www.netquote.com

    Authentication code: 6096826EB0B94FD69242D9EA539D2C9B

This my meta tag: <meta name="msvalidate.01" content="6096826EB0B94FD69242D9EA539D2C9B" /> is on the right page of my code. I have read that the alternative option is to add an .xml document. Because of deployment issues, the developers have blocked any additional page loading on the root level of our site, the only way I can validate in webmaster tool is to do it through the meta tag, however, Live isn't picking up the meta tag anymore (it once did), how can I view my tools now? I have already tried deleting and re-installing too.

    Please help

  • Hi, Did you copy that code into the header section of your homepage?
