Many major manufacturers such as HP install a Trial copy of Office onto their computers. Some installed editions are actually a fully licensed copy of Microsoft Works v9 with an associated Trial of a Microsoft Office 2007 edition, such as Office
Professional 2007.
Your situation sounds like many others who have posted in the Office section of the forum. They are mistakenly trying to enter the product key on the Certificate of Authenticity sticker that is located on the computer case or the bottom of a laptop,
thinking that this product key is for Office. The product key on the Windows CoA is for Windows only, it is not supposed to activate Office.
