WGA product key missing from CD RRS feed

  • Question

  • I obtained a product key for WGA via email as well also received a copy of the WGA CD in the post from microsoft.

I looked at the back of the CD sleeve for the COA but I cannot find the product key listed on it. When I try using the product key I got via email it give me a message saying wrong product key..

I cannot seem to locate any 25 character key on the COA.. All I see is many numbers but these numbers don't work either..

Any idea how to correlate the product key i got in te email with the cd i got in the post?? or where else can I get the product key forthe WGA CD microsoft sent me??

  • Hello Bluuski,

Thank you for visiting the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) program forum.  If you have questions about the Genuine Advantage Kit you previously ordered, including what the product key is, please refer to the following link for phone numbers and operational hours. See below:

Select your location to view local order support contact information:

You should receive an e-mail from service@microsoft.com  which will contain the 25 digit Product Key along with instructions for running the conversion tool. Please print a copy of the email for your records. You may be asked for your Product Key in the future if you request Windows Product Support. The next step of the update process will also ask you for your Product Key.

    Windows Product Key Update Tool:

This tool will lead you through several steps to convert your current Windows Vista software to a genuine and activated copy of Windows Vista.  All active items in your order for Microsoft Products have been shipped.

    Additional WGA Kit information:

Note:  Please check your junk email folder to ensure your confirmation email has not been sent to this location. The originating email will be from service@microsoft.com .

Thank you for visiting the WGA program forum.
