Windows 7 won't validate RRS feed

  • Question

  • My copy was working just fine until today.  My copy isn't pirated and is indeed valid, why does the computer think it is not genuine.

  • Hello HelloWorld808,

You wrote, "I am a first time builder and am wondering how to fix this problem."

The best way to avoid installing nongenuine copies of Windows is to purchase your systembuildr/OEM license from a trusted source.  If you are a small volume builder then someplace like newegg.com or provantage.com would be a good place to buy from.  If you plan to build larger numbers of computers, then set up an account with an authorized Microsoft software distributor:  http://oem.microsoft.com/script/distributorpage.aspx

You can sign up for free to be a Microsoft Registered Partner here:  http://oem.microsoft.com/script/contentPage.aspx?pageid=2  Lots of free info and the best place to learn how to be a systembuilder "the right way."

The problem is that the computer has a pirated installation of Windows 7 Ultimate, as identified by the WAT Update status code:

This installation uses a loader to load the BIOS data and certificate from an HP computer.
