  • If Windows XP came preinstalled by your computer manufacturer, look on the back, side, or the bottom of the computer for the Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

What is a Certificate of Authenticity? http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/en/coa.mspx

If the computer is still operational and you wish to find the Product Key currently in use:

Retrieve your Windows XP CD key: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

  • Mikael,

Curious is your computer a commercially built system or custom built system by a local store?
