Microsoft CRM 4.0 Service Activity time problem. RRS feed

  • Question

  • When placing a service activity on the service calendar everything works correctly. However if we change the times for the service activity to earlier or later than it was and hit "Save and Close" the service activity is not moved and remains at the original time. When you open the service activity after it has been saved and has not moved it shows the time that we changed it to, but is still in the old time slot. Still cant figure out what has happened. This is a test evaluation of the CRM that we are doing for our company but we rely heavily on using a Service Calendar. However my employee found that if you change the status of any call on the service calendar by hitting "Change Status" then selecting cancel it will change the time of the call that would not change before.

Thank you for any insight at all, hopefully this is a minor problem.

    EDIT:

Forgot to add I did also search for this topic and came up with:

    http://forums.microsoft.com/Dynamics/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2944251&SiteID=27

crmasync service was off but i restarted that service. Then restarted the server and the problem still persists.

Just wanted to make sure I wrote that someone else had this problem too.

    Thanks again!

    Edit #2:

Also found this. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949844  and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950680
Seems like Async cant do the job if the server name is lowercase? my server name is lowercase so how would you change this manually to avoid waiting for a hotfix???

    Thanks Again!!

This rollup should do the trick, will deploy today at a known issue center. Will report back later.

  • Hi,

I am experiancing the same symptom with the Async Service (async service will not start).  This is a major problem right now for us as we need to use IFD (forms authentication) - which requires that the async service is running - does anyone know if this has been resolved?  I have checked the KB article 949844 - but it still states a fix is being worked on.

    Thanks

  • I am having this same problem. CrmAsyncService is running fine, I've not had any other problems relating to that. The only currently apparent symptom is what you mention about the activities - you try to reschedule one and it simply doesn't move along the timeline as it should. Hopefully someone from MS is reading this and paying attention - I've stumbled across countless irritating bugs and foibles since deploying CRM.
