Using Robocopy RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using Robocopy, I need to copy a shared folder along with any subfolders from server A over to server B while keeping all the permissions intact. The shared folder on server A is on drive letter E (network share) and i need to copy it to server B on drive letter E (network share). Can someone help me with the command to do this?

Here's what I have, but it's not working as I'm getting invalid parameter error and don't know what the issue is.

    Robocopy \\servername\E:\users\bob \\servername\E:\users /E /SEC / /DCOPY:T /LOG:TestRobocopy.log

  • Sorry  but this is not a RoboCopy forum.  Post in the forum for your version of Windows

Hint: If you are not an Admin you cannot do this.  You must use an actual share name,  Drives are not available from shares and are available to Admins only as A$,B$,C$ ...
