imput string was not in the correct format

  As a computer novice I am setting up my new windows 8. I need to log into a site when I enter my user name and password I get the message 'input string was not in the correct format'.

  Help what is this and how do I correct it... so I can log in. I have not logged in to this site before does that make a difference. In plain language please!!!
