How to have different History sections for a Contact (or something similar) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone!

Is it possible to keep two (or more) different History's in a Contact Entity? One of our CRM users has a Contact which she converses with about multiple projects and she wants to keep all the past activities which are listed in History under the Contact seperated for each project.

    Kind regards,

  • You can create a custom aspx page to show certain history activities in a grid. Something similar like this

  • Hi Mattijs, the very purpose of the contact history grid is to show all the activities associated with this contact across all projects. To see the history of all activities associated with a particular project, there is the history grid on the project record.

To view the activities associated with a particular contact about a specific project, I recommend that your user runs an Advanced Find query -- and saves the view if she wants to reuse it from time to time. You could, like Cartsen has suggested, carry out some development to display this custom view on all contact records -- but is the development really worth it just to satisfy one user's request? I would find it pretty difficult to build a business case for this work, but she is your customer, not mine ; )

  • Hi Neil and Carsten!

The project history seems the easy way, but there is alot of resistance in the office to use this feature since 'it takes to many clicks'. So I might have to resort to creating the custom aspx page. We only have about 20 users on the whole CRM so essentialy this newly developed feature will be used by 5% of the office ;)

Thanks again for both your answers!
