Vista audio problems

  I have a Gateway MP6954 laptop and recently installed windows vista.  it uses a sigma tel audio system and after the install it shows up in the device manager but under sound it says there is no audio device installed on my computer.  I also tried installing new drivers for it it would stop and give an error code of 0x8002802.  I was wondering if anyone has found a solution to the problem.
