Microsoft CRM 2011 + ADFS + Credential Manager RRS feed

  • Has anyone seen a problem where credential manager holds the URL that is part of the Outlook plugin. Then when a user changes their password, CRM cannot be accessed until you go into Credenital Manager and remove/update it in the vault.

    This has always been a small problem, but since implementing ADFS it has made supporting CRM more difficult. Every user that changes their password needs to remove the CRM URL from the vault to get the plugin to work again. Credential Manager is not running as a service on the machines and I find no way of disabling the tracking mechanism.

  • As I investigate, it looks like Credential Manager is the mechanism that CRM with ADFS uses to hold the credentials. If I remove it from the vault and restart Outlook, I am prompted to enter my CRM credentials again. So what would get Credential Manager to get updated when a user changes their network password?
